Andrew McLain
Andy is a Portland native, graduate of Tigard High School, Reed College and Lewis & Clark Law. After a ten year career in network tech and software development, Andy changed careers to focus on solving real problems for real people. His own successful blended family helped him select family law as his focus of practice. Andy trained in mediation as a law student, and emphasizes practical, cooperative outcomes for the families he assists. While settlement is usually preferable, sometimes a particular situation is not safe, or cooperation is lacking, and more forceful action is needed. Andy has assembled a respectable track record in high conflict cases. Andy enjoys taking cases to trial when settlement terms are not available, or are not acceptable. Andy also has a background in criminal defense and juvenile dependency law, which aid him in trial preparation and in spotting issues in complicated cases.
